Archive note (September 2026): First published in February 2024. The original ChatGPT and GPTs recording remains, with a role-play prompt you can use independently of that particular GPT.
In early 2024, I was experimenting with GPTs for writing, file conversion and negotiation practice.
This recording demonstrated bringing a GPT into a ChatGPT conversation with an @ mention, alongside a few specialised GPTs I’d found.
The interface in the video is historical. The useful question still holds: can a focused assistant help you practise a task more effectively?
Sell me this pen - creates product descriptions for all sorts of things
Convert anything - convert one file format to another
The negotiator - role plays negotiations of all kinds
(and Bonus: Simpsonise me) - turns you into a Simpson!

Access update — September 2026: existing GPTs can be used by signed-in ChatGPT users with access; a paid plan is not universally required. Availability, limits and workspace permissions vary. OpenAI is also changing how custom GPT workflows are created and maintained, so check its current GPT guidance before relying on the old setup instructions.

Try a seller conversation
Help me practise a real estate conversation. You are a seller asking about [fee / marketing plan / timing / communication]. I am the agent.
Scenario: [fictional situation, without identifiable client details].
My actual service and commitments: [details].
Ask one question at a time and wait for my answer. Challenge vague claims and ask for evidence. Do not supply my answer during the role-play.
After five exchanges, step out of character. Identify one clear answer, one assumption I made and one question I should have asked. Suggest a more useful response using only the facts I supplied. Do not invent results or promise a sale price.
Start with the seller’s first question. For a related workflow, see from checklist to video in three steps.
Happy Hunting 🚀
